After staying relatively quiet for most of 2013, Skrillex is back and ready to boogie. Today, he’s dropped dates for “The Mothership Tour”, a massive North American jaunt that includes headlining shows and festival appearances through the end of August.
Skrillex has also unveiled a mysterious new app entitled “Alien Ride”. Available for Apple and Droid, it contains a folder of 11 hidden objects and a countdown to today, March 10th, at 6:30pm EDT. As FACT points out, those 11 objects may, in fact, be the tracks that comprise Skrillex’s debut album.
Update: The rumors were true: the app has revealed tracks from Skrillex’s new album, Recess. The album is also streaming in full via iTunes.
Due out March 18th via OWSLA/Big Beat/Atlantic, the 11-track effort contains collaborations with Chance the Rapper, Passion Pit’s Michael Angelakos, The Ragga Twins, Diplo, and more.
